  • Submerged fungi cultures
  • Phototrophic microorganisms

Easy-to-navigate user interface

The LAMBDA Minifor2Bio Bioreactor-Fermenter presents a user-friendly touch screen interface for easily managing and real time monitoring all parameters of fermentation or cell culture processes. For critical growth and production parameters, the bioreactor system offers various inbuilt alarm functions with audio and visual alerts for low and high-level limits of the process parameters.

The large TFT display of the bioreactor shows all process parameters measured and controlled during biotechnological applications. Besides data management and process comparison, the biotechnologist can follow the parameter trends as fully configurable charts.

Besides parameter control and data visualization, the powerful software implementation of LAMBDA Minifor2Bio offers specific functions for biotechnical processes such as pump control, cascade control and parameter profiles creation manager.

For remote control, connect LAMBDA Minifor2Bio to the Local Area Network (LAN) which allows monitoring or managing the fermenter & bioreactor system by mobile phone, tablet or computer. To ensure data and process security, the bioreactor system offers an integrated user administration with user rights.

The fermentation events and process data are stored in a large internal memory with an 8 GB capacity for long-time process storage.

L

Minimal bench space – maximal access

The laboratory fermenter & bioreactor system LAMBDA Minifor2Bio with a small footprint needs just a minimal bench space, while very good access to all ports for optimal sterile handling is still provided.

L

Scalable vessel size for all bench-top fermentation volumes

Exchangeable fermentation vessels 0.3L, 0.4L, 1L, 3L and 7L for a working volume range from 35 ml to 6 litres.

L

Large fine touch TFT display

The laboratory bioreactor is equipped with a 7” TFT IPS display for an optimal view from any angle, a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and a capacitive touch panel that works also with surgical gloves.

L

Wide range of extendable peripherals

Extend the bioreactor system, at any time! E.g. gas flow meters for off-gas analyses, anti-foam controller, balance for chemostat, additional gas flow controllers for gas mix and/or additional medium pumps for feed and harvest and gas concentration meters. (The peripherals can also get used as stand-alone instruments.)

L

Precise temperature control with IR heating

For precise temperature control, the infrared radiation (IR) heats the fermentation broth. The IR-module is placed under the fermentation vessel and the heat is absorbed gently by the culture similar to the sun heating water.

L

In-build software pump controller

LAMBDA Minifor2Bio offers an in-built software pump controller for biotechnological applied functions such as C-feed profiles for fed-batch fermentations, automatic chemostat control and special feed functions. The pump controller manages up to five pumps.

L

In-built pH controller

The bioreactor measures and controls the pH with the automatic addition of base and/or acid (liquid or gas

L

In-build cascading controller

The LAMBDA Minifor2Bio bioreactor software functions allow the creation of various user-specific cascading of regulators; e.g.: automatic pO2 control with O2 enrichment for cell cultures and high cell density fed-batch fermentations.
L

Chemostat

The balance module placed under the bioreactor unit allows the monitoring of cell culture weight as well as control of continuous fermentation based on weight (chemostat).

L

8 GB internal storage

The fermenter LAMBDA Minifor2Bio offers 8 GB of internal storage capacity for process data, recipes, profiles and event logs.

L

Efficient and sheering force minimized stirring

The efficient up-and-down vibration agitation of LAMBDA Minifor2Bio combines the advantage of efficient stirring of Rushton impellers and minimized sheering forces of marine impellers.

L

Sterilisable pH / temperature / ORP and pO2 probes

The bioreactor is equipped with an analog pH/temperature probe (Hamilton or Mettler Toledo) and for aerobe fermentations with a Clark-type pO2 (DO, dissolved oxygen) probe.
For anaerobe fermentations, an ORP (oxidation-reduction potential; REDOX) probe can be used instead of the pH/temperature probe.

L

Digital probe with ARC technology

LAMBDA Minifor2Bio allows to work with all types of Hamilton ARC technology probes (pH, dissolved oxygen (DO, pO2), ORP, conductivity, CO2, optical cell density, viable cell density (permittivity sensor)).

L

In-build air flow regulator

For aerobe fermentations, a gas flow sensor with a precise proportional needle valve controls automatically the dissolved oxygen (DO, pO2) by flow rate variation of air, while the stirrer speed settings stay for the optimal mixing of the reaction contents . For anaerobe fermentation, the in-built MASSFLOW is used for N2 addition.

L

In-build foam level sensors

For fermentation broths rich in proteins producing foam, LAMBDA DOZITO miniature syringe pump automatical reduces the foam level by inimal addition of an anti-foamm agent.

L

Six peripherals as standard

LAMBDA Minifor2Bio uses six inputs for peripherals as standard. Further peripherals can be added according to the user-specific research project.

L

Real-time

The laboratory fermenter & bioreactor comes with an in-built real-time chip with time zone support and stores data with a timestamp for best post-processing.

L

Modern connectivity

The bioreactor system offers USB and Ethernet (LAN) interfaces for downloading, storage and post-processing of fermentation data. Optionally, the bioreactor unit can be equipped with WIFI technology.

L

Modern processor technologies

The laboratory fermenter & bioreactor system is based on dual-processor technology (two standalone CPU units), 120 MHz and 1 GHz Quad-Core processors.
